All-County Selections for Anne Arundel County Softball and Baseball

Anne Arundel County Public Schools recently came out with its All-County selections for both softball and baseball! Both groups were selected by the coaches of AACPS.

Softball

Eight different schools were represented on the first team, with Northeast, which won the MPSSAA 3A East title, nabbing the most selections with three. Senior infielder Coral Dittmar was joined by a pair of juniors in making up Northeast's selections: outfielder Maria Weddle, and catcher Alexis Bringle.

Severna Park, Arundel, Glen Burnie and Broadneck all saw two of their players get selected. For Severna Park, it was senior pitcher Haley Simonds and senior utility player Nikki Burke, while Arundel had sophomore first baseman Cheyenne Starr, as well as senior outfielder Mikayla Meehan selected.

Glen Burnie had two juniors make the first team: shortstop Hannah Eslick and outfielder Kayla Briles. Broadneck junior pitcher Ally Thompson was joined on the first team by junior second baseman Aley Oberdorf.

South River was represented on the first team by junior pitcher Raegan Mahoney, while Chesapeake's senior third baseman Hunter Royston also made the team. North County, which reached the MPSSAA 4A East championship game, had senior catcher Alexa Holderfield get picked.

Baseball

Seven different schools were represented on the first team. Arundel and Severna Park led the way with four selections each.

Arundel, which was in its first season with Frank Hood as head coach, saw three seniors get selected. Catcher Brady Ward, utility infielder Rob Colvin and outfielder Andrew Cassard made up the senior trio. The group was joined on the first team by junior pitcher Michael Prosperi.

Like Arundel, Severna Park had three seniors get selected to the first team. Pitcher Spencer Dietrich, first baseman Stephen Boushell and outfielder Trae Singleton all ended their high school careers by getting selected to the first team. Sophomore third baseman Kody Milton was the other selection for Severna Park.

Old Mill and Broadneck were the other teams to get multiple selections to the first team. Broadneck's selections were both seniors: designated hitter Tyler Mitchell and outfielder Eric Hertel. Old Mill's picks both play middle infield: senior second baseman Bryce Bidinger, and junior shortstop Jeremy Arocho.

Sophomore pitcher Tyler Green was Northeast's lone representative on the first team, while South River's senior outfielder Jesse McElree also got picked. Chesapeake, which reached the MPSSAA 3A state title game, got one selection to the first team: sophomore pitcher Joe Seidler.
