MPSSAA 3A and 4A Indoor Track State Championship Results

3A Girls

Franklin sped past the rest of the competition to win its second state title in three years, accruing a total of 73 points. Urbana placed second with 66 points, while Northern-Cal finished third with 59 points.

The Indians won four competitions, and in two of those events had a second place finisher as well. Franklin swept the top two spots in the 300 meter dash, with Cameron Hinton finishing first and Tylar Colbert getting second. The same thing happened in the 500 meter run as Nyjari McNeil placed first and Hinton finished second. Those two events alone gave Franklin 36 of its final points.

McNeil also won the 800 meter run and anchored Franklin's first place 4x400 meter relay team, which also included Colbert, Hinton and Jasmine Johnson.

3A Boys

Oxon Hill won its second straight state title by winning four events, and finishing with 61 points. Oakdale placed second with 51.50 points, and Wilde Lake finished third with 34.

The Clippers got an excellent individual performance from Gary Ross, who won state championships in both the 500 and 800 meter runs. Ross was joined in the top two of the 500 meter run by his teammate Aaron Robinson.

Oxon Hill's two other victories came in the relays. The team of Caleb Jordan, Daniel George, Javon Hayes and Cameron Deen won the 4x200, while Ross anchored the Clippers' championship winning 4x800 relay unit, which featured Anthony Wimbush, Randy Serville and Robinson.

4A Girls

CH Flowers made it two in a row by winning the 4A girls state title, finishing with 95 points. Northwest's 70.50 points was good enough for the team to get second, while Walter Johnson got third with 42.

The Jaguars won five events, including two in the relays. The team of Collese Daley, Pharist O'Neal, Ryley Hinson and Kenydi McWilliams won the 4x200 event, while Daley and O'Neal were joined by Javon Watts and Dejah Grant in claiming the 4x400 relay title.

O'Neal also won two individual state titles in the 55 meter dash, as well as the 300 meter dash, an event where Daley also finished second. Grant also picked up an individual state title in the high jump.

4A Boys

Northwest won its fourth straight state title in impressive fashion, accruing 81.50 points, finishing far ahead of second place Dulaney, which finished with 28 points. Springbrook and Broadneck tied for third with 25 points.

The Jaguars won four different events, three of which involved Josh Netterville. Netterville won the 300 meter dash as well as the 55 meter dash, an event his teammate Anthony Woods placed second in. Netterville also anchored Northwest's 4x200 meter relay team, which featured Woods, Elton Quansah and Khaloni Mganga.

Chase Osborne won Northwest's other individual state title in the 800 meter run.
