MPSSAA Football State Finals Moved to Naval Academy for 2016

The MPSSAA state finals for football have been moved from M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium for 2016. The finals had been held at M&T for 14 straight years.


The primary reason for the move is the new natural grass the Ravens put in at their home stadium, changing it from artificial turf. The wear and tear of four football games from Dec. 1-3 means the field would be in poor shape for the Ravens' home game against the Miami Dolphins, scheduled for Dec. 4.
