Week 4 Football Games to Watch

Week 4 is offering up a lot of exciting games around the state of Maryland! Here are a few games to really keep an eye on:

Arundel at Old Mill

This is a battle of the two remaining undefeated squads in Anne Arundel County. Both teams have won all their games by large margins and both teams have scored at least 40 points in each game too. The two squads also beat previously undefeated teams in Week 3, with Arundel topping Chesapeake-AA 48-8, and Old Mill winning against South River 41-6.

In the regular season last year, Arundel beat Old Mill 14-7. Old Mill got the final word though, beating Arundel 26-21 in the 4A East Regional Final.

This game kicks off at 6:30 this Friday.

Patapsco at Dundalk

This is a Baltimore County rivalry game which could have big playoff implications. Dundalk is 3-0 in 2015, scoring victories over Kenwood and Milford Mill. Last week, the Owls debuted their school's brand new stadium with a 41-6 win over Lansdowne. Patapsco enters the game 2-1. After a Week 1 loss to Catonsville, the Patriots have reeled off two straight wins over Dulaney and Towson.

Last year Patapsco finished 9-1, which is the most wins in a single season in school history. However, they missed the playoffs on a tiebreaker, and their one loss was a 13-10 decision against Dundalk.

The Patriots and the Owls square off at 6:00 this Friday.

Sherwood at Springbrook

With their 58-16 win over Northwood in Week 3, Springbrook earned their third win of the 2015 season, which is as many wins as the team had in 2014. The Blue Devils will try to eclipse that mark this week at home against traditional powerhouse Sherwood, who is also 3-0. Sherwood has won all of their games by at least 17 points this year, with their most recent win being a 49-29 victory over Magruder. The schools are about a 15 minute drive from each other, so expect this one to be a well-attended affair.

Last year, Sherwood got the better of Springbrook, winning the game 56-6. The two teams square off at 6:30 this Friday.

Clarksburg at Quince Orchard

Two perennial playoff squads from Montgomery County will be playing each other in this game. Both teams are 2-1, with Quince Orchard picking up wins against Walter Johnson and Wootton, while Clarksburg has beaten Churchill and B-CC.

These are two teams who know each other well- the teams have played each other once in the regular season and once in the postseason in each of the past two seasons. Quince Orchard has won all four contests, but the two games last year were close, with Quince Orchard winning 22-19 in the regular season, and 21-14 in the playoffs.

Clarksburg and Quince Orchard will renew their rivalry at 6:30 this Friday.

Patterson at Dunbar

Patterson and Dunbar face each other this Friday night in a game featuring two undefeated teams from Baltimore City. Patterson is 3-0, with their most recent win coming against Digital Harber last Friday. The Clippers have been reliant on their defense- the unit has not allowed more than 12 points in a single game this season. Dunbar had their game against Frederick Douglass postponed last week, so the Poets should be well-rested and ready for Friday. Dunbar's offense has been prolific in their two wins, scoring 42 in Week 1 against Northwestern and 50 against Dover from Delaware in Week 2.

Last year, Dunbar beat Patterson 20-15. Start time for this game is 7:00 at Dunbar tomorrow.

Havre de Grace at C.M. Wright

Havre de Grace will put their undefeated mark on the line when they travel to Bel Air to face the C.M. Wright Mustangs. The Warriors have won their first three games with relative ease. After shutout wins over North East and Joppatowne, the team gave up their first points of the season in a 23-7 win over Perryville in Week 3. In C.M. Wright, Havre de Grace faces a team who is 2-1 and riding a two game winning streak. After a loss to Elkton in Week 1, the Mustangs rebounded with wins against Rising Sun and North East.

Havre de Grace won the game between these two teams last year by a final score of 58-32. This game kicks off at 7:00 on Friday.
