Maryland Black Ice Softball Team Hosting College Skills Clinic
The Maryland Black Ice, an elite fast-pitch softball organization based out of Cockeysville, will be hosting its sixth annual college skills clinic for high school aged players from August 19-20. The event will take place at Warren Place Park.
Last year's event saw coaches from 27 different college programs attend. The group was made up of all divisions of collegiate softball, as well as community colleges. 80 top softball players were selected to participate from 150 applicants in 2015, which makes it one of the largest recruitment camps.
This year, a number of colleges have decided to attend the event. The group includes schools from Maryland, such as the University of Maryland, University of Maryland-Baltimore County, Salisbury University and Bowie State, among others. There are also plenty of schools from out of state attending, including Brown University, Wesley College and York College.
More information about the event, including the schedule for the two days and the cost to participate, is listed in the official press release below.
