Richard Montgomery 20 - Clarksburg 13
The Rockets are now 7-1 this season after winning a close game against Clarksburg 20-13.
Daniel Alexander provided the key plays late in the game for Richard Montgomery on both offense and defense. A wide receiver, Alexander hauled in three catches for 72 yards, including a 15 yard touchdown reception. Alexander also made a big catch 29 yard catch to seal the game with one minute left, hauling in Michael Silver's only pass of the night on a fourth down.
It was Alexander's play on defense that changed the game though. In the third quarter, Alexander picked off a pass in Richard Montgomery's red zone and returned it 95 yards for a touchdown to make the score 13-6 in favor of the Rockets. Alexander wasn't finished, picking off a second pass in the fourth quarter to get the ball back for Richard Montgomery.
Richard Montgomery's offense operated through Jhordan Greene, who had a big game rushing the ball. He carried it 20 times for 122 yards. Quarterback Spencer Silverstein completed five passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to the touchdown he threw to Daniel Alexander, he also threw a seven yard touchdown to Daryn Alexander, who finished the night with three catches for 26 yards.

Patterson 46 - The SEED School of Maryland 8
Patterson won their second game in a row and extended their record in 2015 to 7-1 by beating The SEED School of Maryland 46-8.
Patterson got a big game from quarterback Dana Reaves. Reaves put together a masterful performance, completing six out of nine passes for 107 yards. He also threw for three touchdowns.
Bennie Myrick had a strong all around game for Patterson. On offense, Myrick caught two passes from Reaves for 34 yards and a touchdown. Defensively he made two tackles. Myrick also had the big play of the game, catching an interception and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown.
Patterson goes on the road in Week 9, traveling to face Lake Clifton next Friday.
Blair 42 - Kennedy 0
Blair bounced back from a loss in Week 7 against Sherwood, by shutting out Kennedy 42-0. The Blazers are now 5-3.
Blair's offense, defense and special teams all scored touchdowns in this game. On offense, quarterback Desmond Colby had an excellent game. He threw for three touchdowns, all in the first half. He completed 10 of 23 passes for 190 yards. His main targets were Chris Green and Omari Brooks. Green led all receivers with three catches and 68 yards, including a 20 yard touchdown strike to open up the scoring in the game. Brooks finished with two catches for 51 yards. He also caught a touchdown, a 30 yard one which was also in the first quarter. Fullback Ben Massinga also caught a Colby touchdown pass, hauling in a 12 yard reception.
Running back J'den Seals had a strong rushing performance, running for 50 yards on seven attempts. He also scored a touchdown on a two yard run in the fourth quarter.
On defense, Thien Cao had the highlight of the night, hauling in an interception and returning it 35 yards for a touchdown. Eric Zokouri also had a big play, returning a punt 30 yards for a touchdown.
Blair hosts Einstein in Week 9.
Gaithersburg 27 - Wootton 25
Gaithersburg won a wild back and forth game with Wootton to improve their 2015 record to 5-3.
The story of the game was Gaithersburg's ability to run the ball. The team ran for over 200 yards with multiple different runners used. Jon Lyles and Marqel Simpkins both had strong games rushing. Lyles scored on a 49 yard rush, while Simpkins hammered one in from the goal line.
Quarterback Carlin Bason also had a rushing touchdown. He also threw for a touchdown, connecting with Denzel Dalton on a 60 yard strike.
