Bel Air 23 - Aberdeen 0
Bel Air improved to 6-1 in 2015 with a dominant win over Aberdeen, shutting out their Harford County rival 23-0.
The Bobcats defense was led by Jack Jenkens who was making plays all over the field. He finished the game with seven solo tackles and seven assisted, as well as three tackles for a loss. Keegan McHugh came up with five solos and one assisted, while Jaleel Lowe had four solos and two assisted, including two tackles for losses. Tommy Gomez had three solo tackles, two assisted, two for a loss and a fumble recovery.
With Bel Air only attempting three passes, the Bobcats relied heavily on McHugh to have a good game rushing the football. He responded with a monstrous performance, carrying the ball 27 times for 242 yards, which averages out to a little less than nine yards per carry. McHugh also scored two touchdowns.
In total, the Bobcats ran for 296 yards. The team's other touchdown was a 58 yard reception by Jonathan Scott, who caught the pass from quarterback Christian Karidias.
The Bobcats travel to North Harford in Week 8.
Catonsville 19 - Milford Mill 18
The Comets got big performances from wide receiver Jamal Johnson and quarterback Jake Getzendanner, which proved to be just enough to edge Milford Mill, 19-18. The victory broke a three game losing streak for the team, which is now 4-3.
Johnson, who has more catches (67) and receiving yards (934) in his career than any other player in Catonsville's history, finished the day with five catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns. He opened the scoring for the Comets in the second quarter when he fielded a punt and ran it back 37 yards for a touchdown. Johnson scored again in the fourth quarter on a 21 yard pass from Getzendanner, which proved to be the winning score.
Getzendanner entered the game at the start of the second half and had a strong showing, completing nine passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to the late score to Johnson, he connected on a 30 yard touchdown pass to Malik Baker in the third quarter. Baker caught one other pass and ended with 59 yards receiving.
Catonsville will look to keep winning when they face Lansdowne next Friday.
Harford Tech 36 - North East 18
Harford Tech's offense exploded for 498 yards of total offense, quarterback Jaylen Kelley had an excellent performance, and the Cobras picked up their third win of the season, beating North East 36-18.
The Cobras were led by Kelley, who completed 17 of 20 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns. He did an excellent job of spreading the ball around. Josh Hucke had four receptions and a team high 91 yards receiving. Angelo had a team high five receptions for 77 yards and scored a touchdown. Ullic Young-Briscoe caught the ball four times for 67 yards and a touchdown. Young-Briscoe also had one carry, a 39 yard touchdown.
On the ground, D'onte Leigh ran for 56 yards. Leigh also contributed in the passing game, racking up 40 yards receiving. Kyle Cicone ran for 43 yards and Charles Brown for 31- both scored a touchdown.
Harford Tech returns to action in Week 8 against Joppatowne.
Arundel 67 - Meade 30
Arundel posted 609 yards of total offense en route to beating Meade 67-30. The Wildcats trailed 22-20 late in the second quarter, then scored 41 unanswered points to completely take over the game.
Arundel's quarterback Donte Thompson was exception, going 22 for 30 throwing the ball for 369 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran for 42 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Christian Thornton and Octavious Taylor were his top wide receivers. Thornton ended the game catching six passes for 127 yards, with three touchdowns. Taylor had five receptions for 125 yards and scored one touchdown. Christian McFadden had six catches for 68 yards and found the end zone once. Andrew Cassard also had a receiving touchdown.
The Wildcats were also effective running the ball, rushing for 237 yards. Larry Barnes took on the bulk of the load, running for 141 yards on 17 attempts. He scored two touchdowns. Darius Hunter also ran for 43 yards and scored a touchdown.
Arundel snapped a three game losing streak with this win. They are now 4-3. Looking ahead, Arundel faces off with Northeast in Week 8.
Annapolis 48 - Northeast 0
Annapolis ran for 277 yards while their defense forced five turnovers in a big win over Northeast, winning 48-0.
Montes Davis ran for 134 yards on only five attempts, which averages out to over 26 yards a carry. He scored two touchdowns, both in the first quarter, including a 61 yard run. Demorie Carey also scored twice. He finished with 60 yards on three attempts.
Quarterback Nate Vance also had a rushing touchdown. He also connected with Trey Gross for a 16 yard touchdown. Bradley O'Neal also threw a touchdown, a 63 yard completion to Dayshawn Womack.
On defense, Annapolis forced four interceptions and a fumble. Jalil Ashcroft, Demarco Dickens, Kemari Cook and Daquan Dickens had the interceptions, while Gross had the fumble recovery.
Annapolis is now 6-1. They square off with Chesapeake-AA in Week 8.
