Churchill Has Early Lead in Montgomery County Golf Season
Churchill's golf team has set the pace for the rest of the competition in Montgomery County. The Bulldogs are the only team to shoot under 180 in a round. The team has actually done it twice, shooting 179 at Worthington Manor in their first round, only to do better in their second match at Northwest Park Golf Club, finishing with 177. Churchill's golfers are averaging 35.60 strokes per round. Second place Sherwood's golfers are at 38 strokes, while third place B-CC is at 39.60.
The Bulldogs have four of the top five golfers in Montgomery County thus far. Oliver Whatley and Adam Gray are both tied for the top average in the county at 34 strokes per match, while Luke Schaap is right behind them at 34.5 strokes. Sean Coleman rounds out the top 5 with a 36 average. Wootton's Jordan Weitz is the only non-Churchill competitor in the top 5, and he is tied with Whatley and Gray with 34 strokes.
Churchill will not be on the links until next Tuesday. They will be competing with B-CC, Walter Johnson and Whitman at PB Dye Golf Club.
