Middletown won its first ever state championship in baseball behind a complete game shutout from Matt Dillard, who scattered 5 hits and struck out 10 batters, as the Knights cruised to an 8-0 win against Fallston. The Knights also got two-RBI games from Robbie Houck, Jacob House, and Andrew Wenner as Middletown unleashed a 10 hit attack.
Middletown broke the deadlock in the third inning, which began with a leadoff single by Ryan Woelkers. After a walk to Nick Madden and a sacrifice bunt, House ripped a two RBI single to give the Knights their first lead of the day. The inning continued, and Houck eventually knocked in another run to score Luke Pryor, who had gotten on with a single as well, giving Middletown a 3-0 lead.
The Knights scored again in the fifth inning, which started with back to back singles by Wenner and House, both of which advanced a base after an errant throw in the outfield. After Pryor grounded out and was unable to score a run, Houck hit a sacrifice fly to score Wenner and give Middletown a 4-0 lead. House then stole third base and came round to score on an errant throw, making it 5-0.
Middletown tacked on more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Wenner picked up two RBI's on a single, and Madden registered an RBI on a double.

St. Michaels used two big innings to run away with the MPSSAA 1A baseball state title, winning 12-1 in a shortened five inning contest against Boonsboro. The Saints actually trailed 1-0 before plating seven runs in the third inning, and then five in the fourth. Matt Grogan went the distance for St. Michaels on the mound, scattering four hits.
St. Michaels' first big inning came in the third when the Saints plated seven runs. Seth Parks had a leadoff single before Trent Saunders got hit by a pitch. Andrew Risher followed with a bunt single, which loaded the bases for the Saints with no outs. Boonsboro pitcher Adam Mathias then began to struggle to find the strike zone, walking Tucker Heinlein, Nick Newnam and Nathan Howeth to plate three runs for the Saints.
After a pitching change was made to put Aaron Myers on the mound for the Warriors, CJ Chansler hit another infield single, and Noah Brack smacked a two RBI single. After a pair of popouts, Saunders, in his second at bat of the inning, roped an RBI single that saw Brack get thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
The Saints added to their lead the following inning when Risher led off with a double. He came around to score on a opposite way single to left field for Newnam. Newnam, who stole a base, would come around to score on Howeth's single up the middle. After a walk to Chansler, Brack roped a double to Howeth, making it 10-1 and forcing Boonsboro to bring Brock Smith to the mound. Grogan then helped his own cause with a two-RBI single.

Benjamin Burgan poked an infield single and Josh Tibbs followed with a single to right field to plate Saunders.
