Nine Basketball Players from CSZ Jurisdictions Nominated to Play in McDonald's All-American Game
Six boys basketball players and three girls basketball players from schools in County Sports Zone's jurisdiction have been nominated to play in the 2016 McDonald's All-American Game. Both the boys and girls games are scheduled to take place on April 1 in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center. The girls game is at 5:30 PM, with the boys following it at 8 PM
A total of 42 student players from Maryland were nominated, along with hundreds from around the United States, to participate in the game. The list of nominees will eventually get cut down to 48 total participants, 24 boys and 24 girls. Alumni from this historic game includes NBA and WNBA superstarts like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Maya Moore and Candace Parker.
Clarksburg boys basketball has the largest contingent, placing three members of their team on the list- Andrew Kostecka, Dallas Marshall and Jeffrey McInnis.
Meade High School, the defending MPSSAA 4A state champs, had two players named to the list- Jerrel Elder and Tristan Easton.
The final boy on the list is Jeffrey Powell-Young from Blake High School in Montgomery County.
On the girls side, Aberdeen's Stephanie Jones, who recently eclipsed 1,500 career points scored, was named to the list.
Khepera Stokes from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, which has won four straight MPSSAA regional titles, was also nominated.
The final girl on the list is Arundel's Kennedi Colclough from Anne Arundel County.
