Broadneck boy, Mt. Hebron girl win District V golf titles
Connor Jaenke of Broadneck High School beat Jackson Courtney of Marriotts Ridge High with a par on the first playoff hole to win the boys District V golf tournament Monday at Fairway Hills Golf Club in Columbia.
Jaenke and Courtney both shot 72 for 18 holes, one shot better than Courtney's Marriotts Ridge teammates Bennett Buch and John Syzmanski. The Mustangs did win the Class 1A/2A team title. Mt. Hebron won the Class 3A/4A team title by seven shots over second-place Broadneck.
Josephine Jung of Mt. Hebron won the girls title by shooting 71, three shots better than runner-up Jackie Cherry of Howard High.
