Big honor for Howard County's Carol Satterwhite
Carol Satterwhite, a legendary figure in high school athletics in Howard County -- and all of Maryland -- was inducted into the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association's Hall of Fame Tuesday night in Orlando.
Carol, who was a physical education teacher at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia from 1971 to 2002, as well as the Wildecats' athletic director from 1972-2001, was one of 12 honorees at a banquet during the 46th annual National Athletic Directors Conference.
After Carol retired from Wilde Lake, she served in Howard County in various athletic administration positions, including athletic coordinator for the county. And since 2004, she has been the executive director of the Maryland State Athletic Directors Association.
Congratulations to Carol on a well-deserved honor!
(And thanks to Michael Duffy, athletic and activities manager at Howard High School, for the photo of Carol from the banquet!)
