Chesapeake-AA 49 - Southern-AA 19
Chesapeake improved to 6-3 in 2015 behind a five touchdown performance from Jason Sutton. The Cougars won the game 49-19.
After Chesapeake fell behind early in the first quarter, Sutton got the Cougars on the board in dramatic fashion, returning a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown. Sutton was far from finished there, scoring three rushing touchdowns on runs of eight, two and seven yards in the second quarter. The Cougars were able to extend their 14-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter to a 35-12 halftime lead.
Sutton scored his final touchdown on a 38 yard run in the third quarter, his longest run of the night. In total, he finished with 135 yards on 13 carries.
As a team, Chesapeake ran the ball for 340 yards. Quentin Ford had an excellent game for the Cougars, amassing 122 yards and a touchdown on a measly six carries. He also had the team's longest run of the night when he broke free for a 50 yard gain. Williams Sterling chipped in 67 yards on four carries, including a 39 yard touchdown run.
Chesapeake finishes their regular season at home against North County next Friday.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase 34 - Walter Johnson 0
The Barons bounced back from a tough Week 8 loss to Quince Orchard by recording their first shutout of 2015, topping Walter Johnson 34-0. B-CC is now 3-6 this season.
Sam Robinson got the Barons on the scoreboard in the first quarter when he returned a punt 55 yards to get in the end zone. Quarterback Ryan Dimmick hurled two touchdowns in the second quarter. His first was a 37 yard completion to Jose Chavez, who finished the game with 108 yards on five catches. Dimmick was at it again later in the second quarter when he connected with Michael Reid for a 12 yard score.
Running back Marcelo McAndrew scored two touchdowns in the second half to extend the Barons' lead, first striking in the third quarter from eight yards out, then scoring from nine yards out in the fourth quarter. McAndrew carried the bulk of the offensive load on the night, finishing with 132 yards on 20 carries.
The Barons' defense was also superb, limiting Walter Johnson's passing game to two completions for -1 yards, and their running game to just 93 yards. Defensive end Gabe McAndrew in particular stood out, constantly wreaking havoc in Walter Johnson's backfield.
B-CC will look to finish their 2015 season with a winning streak when they square off with Whitman next Friday night.
Wise 35 - Bladensburg 0
Playmaker Myles Wolfork's three touchdown performance was the catalyst for Wise's ninth win of the season. The Pumas remained undefeated in 2015 by beating Bladensburg 35-0.
Bladensburg had no answer for Wolfork who scored on a run, pass and punt return. He only had one rush on the day, but it was a 45 yard touchdown scamper. Wolfork caught four passes for 77 yards. His punt return for a touchdown was also a big play, scoring on an 85 yard return.
CJ Rainey had a strong day running the ball, carrying it 10 times for 133 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Booker was also a big factor in the running game, rushing the ball eight times for 79 yards. Quarterback Jabari Laws also contributed to the running game, carrying the ball three times for 21 yards. He also completed six passes, including the touchdown pass to Wolfork.
Wise will look to complete their undefeated 2015 season next when they host PG County rival Suitland next Saturday.
Watkins Mill 42 - Blake 33
Watkins Mill's tandem of Markel Grant and wide receiver Daquan Wims proved too much for Blake. The duo connected for three touchdowns as the Wolverines got the win, 42-33.
Grant had a monstrous game, going 22-37 throwing the ball, including four touchdowns. He also ran the ball 12 times for 36 yards.
Grant's main target was Wims, who caught 10 passes for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Devonte Bruff was also crucial in the passing game, catching five balls for 68 yards. Brian McNeary had four catches for 52 yards.
Running back Antony Zavala had a two touchdown performance. He ran the ball 13 times for 83 yards and a touchdown. He also caught Grant's other touchdown pass.
The Wolverines are now 4-5. They look to finish the regular season with a .500 record next week when they travel to Wheaton.
