Westminster's Warren Gaining National Interest on Gridiron
There is a rich tradition of high-caliber professional football players emerging from Maryland and the surrounding states. Westminster's Evan Warren may be the next.
However, he doesn't light up coach's stopwatches or have a cannon for an arm. Instead, Warren plays a position that rarely gets attention on the national recruiting level: kicker.
After a terrific junior season during which Warren went 21-for-24 on extra points and made five field goals, he is gaining attention from outlets devoted to ranking kickers across the country.
One such outlet, Chris Sailer Kicking, has Warren ranked as a "five-star" prospect, 13th in the country, a level which they deem Division-I caliber. Warren will attend the camp's showcase in Las Vegas later in July, according to the Carroll County Times.
You can read the Times' full profile of Warren here, and you can find Chris Sailer Kicking's rankings (and information about the national showcase) here.
