All-Conference Selections for Carroll County Athletic League Softball and Baseball

Carroll County Public Schools recently came out with their All-Conference selections for both softball and baseball! Both groups were selected by the coaches of CCPS, and are the first All-Conference selections in the history of the Carroll County Athletic League.

Congratulations to all athletes on getting selected!

Softball

Liberty, which reached the MPSSAA 2A West championship game, placed the most players on the first team with four. Pitcher Lexi Trail was joined on the team by her battery mate, Meghan Jacobs. Third baseman Lexi Jones also got selected, as did centerfielder Kasey Bost.

Manchester Valley, which beat Liberty 5-4 in the County Championship, saw three players get tipped for the first team. The trio is comprised of catcher/third baseman Kayla Geho, infielder Jessie Swistock and shortstop/centerfielder Lauren Vogel.

Westminster, which won the MPSSAA 3A state title with a 10-5 win over Huntingtown, had two players get selected: pitcher Emily Maseth and catcher Olivia Herman.

Chloe Sharman (South Carroll, pitcher/first base), Lexy Richards (North Carroll, catcher), and Gillian Sinnott (Century, catcher) rounded out the rest of the first team.

Baseball

All eight schools were represented in the first team, with County Championship participants Westminster and Francis Scott Key leading the way with three selections each.

Westminster, which won the County title by beating FSK 6-1, saw a trio of infielders get picked: Robby Walsh, pitcher/infielder Brandon Martin, and pitcher/catcher/infielder Justin Buberl all got nods for the Owls.

FSK also had three selections, all of which did some pitching for the Eagles: catcher/shorstop/pitcher Ethan Rhoten, infielder/pitcher Camden Cregger and shortstop/pitcher Trent Copenhaver.

Manchester Valley's battery of pitcher Andrew Howard and catcher Mitch Rickabaugh both made the first team. A pair of infielders from South Carroll, Brad Haas and Joe Malagari both got nods to be on the first team. Century was the other school to get two selections to the first team- catchers/outfielders Michael Marrale and Brad Martin.

Todd Wilmer (North Carroll, catcher), Britton Lawrence (Winters Mill, third base/pitcher) and Tommy Parris (Liberty, outfield/first base) made up the rest of the selections on the first team.
