Sherwood Wins Golf Match at Bretton Woods
Sherwood's golf team won in Montgomery County play at Bretton Woods Golf Club yesterday. In an extremely competitive match, the Warriors shot 190 as a team, finishing ahead of Whitman, who finished with 196. Bethesda-Chevy Chase shot a 198 and Quince Orchard shot a 205 to round out the field.
Matt Ervin of Sherwood and Brendan King of Quince Orchard tied for the best individual score, both shooting a 36. Michael Metro of Sherwood and Graham Hutchinson from Whitman were one stroke behind the two leaders, finishing with a 37. Cooper Moore led B-CC with a 38- he tied with John Ervin of Sherwood and Joey Squeri of Whitman.
Sherwood is now second in the Montgomery County team standings, behind Churchill who shot a 179 at Worthington Manor on Tuesday. Whitman is in third and B-CC is in fourth. Wootton rounds out the top five with a score of 199, while Quince Orchard sits sixth.
