Bohemia Manor Boys, Rising Sun Girls Win Cecil County Cross Country Invitational
The Cecil County Cross Country Invitational took place yesterday at Bohemia Manor. The complete race results can be seen below!
The boys race was won by Bohemia Manor, who scored a 23. Elkton, who came in second, finished with a 70.
The top three runners in the race all came from Bohemia Manor. Grant Franceschina finished first with a time of 17:18.20, Zachary Laird got second with a 17:38.04 and Alex Longeway rounded out the top three by running the race in 17:47.53. What makes Bohemia Manor's race even more impressive is that all three runners are underclassmen- Franceschina is a sophomore while Laird and Longeway are both freshmen.
Nathan Galloway from North East (17:58.25) and Matt Salvatore from Perryville (18:03.13) made up the rest of the top five. Evan Shrewsbury was Elkton's fastest runner, finishing eighth and completing the race in 18:45.17.
The girls side was a much tighter team race for the top spot between Rising Sun and Bohemia Manor. Rising Sun finished first with a score of 36, while Bohemia Manor got a 37.
Considering how tight the race ended up being, it should come as no surprise that the top five was comprised of runners from Rising Sun and Bohemia Manor. Sophomore Elle Meyer from Bohemia finished first with a 19:47.94. Junior Alanah Bell from Rising Sun finished second with a 20:19.96. Bohemia Manor's Jamie Rhudy and Tara McDonald finished third and fifth with times of 21:43.46 and 22:07.17, while Rising Sun's Emma Wheeler got fourth with a 22:03.71.
The fastest runners not from Rising Sun or Bohemia Manor were Aleah Losoya (22:42.32) from Perryville and North East's Briana Bruckart (22:52.80).
