Kevin Rutledge Hired as New Athletic Director at Severna Park
Severna Park High School will have a new athletic director in 2019. Kevin Rutledge, who spent the past five years at nearby Meade High School, will replace former athletic director Dave Lanham.
Rutledge replaced Lanham as the AD at Meade five years ago when Rutledge took over the position at Severna Park.
Rutledge comes to a school in Severna Park that features a brand-new building and athletic facilities, some of which are still being constructed.
"Obviously, one of the reasons I wanted to go to Severna Park is the facilities are second to none," Rutledge told the Baltimore Sun. "I get to come here and enjoy this beautiful facility, but there might be some things I want to improve. Anytime you travel outside of Anne Arundel County you realize we have it pretty good here."

There are more athletic director openings at Anne Arundel County high schools that will be filled this summer. You can read about the various positions here and follow coverage from the Capital Gazette.
