Linganore, Frederick Become First 2019 Regional Track Team Champions
The MPSSAA 3A West track and field regional championships were the first to wrap up this year, and the Linganore boys and Frederick girls won the team titles. Both teams won the 3A state indoor track and field titles in Febuary and will look to repeat the feat next weekend at Morgan State University.
The Linganore boys were led by seniors Michael Belmaggio (1st, 3200 meter run; 2nd, 1600 meter run) and Will Cioffi (1st, 800 and 1600 meter runs); the Lancers also won the 4x800 meter relay.
Frederick received 20 points from both junior Christian Claggett, who won both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles, and senior Paige Tolbard, who won the shot put and the discus.
